We’ve reached the end of this half term by celebrating our annual Awards Night. Thank you to everyone who supported this event and congratulations to those who won an award. It is always a difficult time for us to single people out for an award and as we always say it is not always the best dancers that we choose but those who have shown commitment and dedication to their dancing and the school. We understand that the commitment from the children means commitment from parents which we know can be hard but is greatly appreciated by us. Thank you to you all.
Term Date
We will end this term on Friday 10th February and will start back on Monday 20th February 2012. Please make sure you continue to look at the board in the entrance for news on forthcoming events and information and also the show work board which is outside the studio door for dates and times of rehearsals.
Lesson Fees
Please ensure that all lesson fees are paid on time. We are getting an increasing number of late payments which is not acceptable and is costly for the dance school, if you have a problem with making payments then please come and discuss with us. As a reminder all lesson fees are to be paid prior to the class, if paying weekly, then payment is required at the start of the week or if paying termly then payment is required at the beginning of the term. Similarly, we ask that show rehearsal fees are paid on the day of the rehearsal.
Summer School
We will be running Summer School again this year from Monday 6th August to Friday 10th August. We are again offering 2 days (Monday and Tuesday) for the under 7’s and the full week for all other ages. We have been running this for a number of years and offer a large number of activities for the children to enjoy. Please refer to the board for full details.
MADD Showcase
We have been invited to perform at the Madd at the Fort Showcase, at Fort Purbrook on Sunday 11th March 2012. Please see the board for more information, add your name to the list if you are interested in taking part.

If we have enough interest then we will start this class again so please let us know if your child would like to attend. Please speak to Jodi, Elise, Abbie or Julie-Anne for further information on any of the above classes.
Shed Clearance
On Thursday 16th February we will be organising and clearing the shed and would appreciate some help. If you are able to help even for a small amount of time then please see either Jodi or Elise.
Waiting Area
We appreciate that the waiting area does become very busy at times and we thank you for your understanding. We are forever trying to think of a way to improve this and any realistic suggestions you have would be appreciated.
Show News
Show Date and Venue Reminder: We are doing 3 shows at Petersfield Theatre on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th October 2012. The Matinee performance will be on Sunday afternoon.
Rehearsals
The date for the show is fast approaching and rehearsals are going well. We are pleased with the commitment that is being shown by the vast number of performers but we must reiterate that continued commitment from all who wish to take part is vital to the success of the show. Please refer to the show board which is outside the studio door for show rehearsal dates and times and let Jodi and/or Elise know if you are unable to attend.
Matrons
Matrons, to help with costume changes and supervision of the children backstage, are vital for the smooth running of the show. If your child is in the show then we ask that you help by matroning for at least one performance. Helen Harding is the Head Matron, please advise Helen which performance you are available for.
Your Help is Required
We would appreciate any help that you can give especially with making show props, costumes, sequins, ticket sales, marketing/sponsors, etc. If there is anything you think you can do to help, however, large or small, then please speak to Jodi or Elise.
Gingham Dresses
We are in need of gingham dresses in any colour. If you have any that you no longer need then we would appreciate it if you could bring them in for us.
Have a great half term and good luck to all of those taking part in the Chichester Festival
Jodi and Elise xx
