Brightstars Dance Academy offers outstanding dance and musical arts classes in: Tap, Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Zumba, Musical Theatre, Festival Work and Show Work for all ages.
The Story of Brightstars
Brightstars Dance Academy was born when two little girls met at the age 7, they had a dream of opening their own dance school together. As years went on the dream never faded and although both had different ambitions the dance school was always the end goal.
Elise went on to gain her teaching exams and began teaching for various different schools while Jodi travelled working as a dancer on various cruise liners and hotel chains.
In 2001 Jodi took her teaching exams and the school opened in October at Bedhampton Methodist Church.
From this the school grew from strength to strength and new classes created. Exam results were fantastic and the pupils were given many opportunities to take part in shows, carnivals and competitions with much success. Dancing at some iconic places including Disneyland Paris, Her Majesties Theatre and the London palladium. They also appeared on the BBC for various documentaries
In 2004 Jodi and Elise bought their own property which they converted into studios.
The Brightstars family continued to grow with new generations joining and senior students going in to the big wide world starting their careers, going off to stage schools, into west end musicals and university.
One student who started on that very first day, Abbie, is now a valued member of the Brightstars teaching team.
Over the years Brightstars has continued to gain extremely high exam grades and have introduced many new genres of dance including hip hop, musical theatre, stretch, tricks and tumbles and many more.
Jodi and Elise still have the same passion and drive they did on that very first day and still stand by the same ethos. The aim being to bring out the best in every single one of their pupils.
